For January 2008 IED decided to propose a new One Year Course to all those whom want to experiment and acquire basic Industrial design tools. This education pathway covers, on one hand, in depth-studies on historical and critical culture, and, on the other hand, instils the acquisition of technical and project capacities. Theoretical lessons are flanked by creative workshops, visits to enterprises, Trade Fairs and sector events. The course is going to last from January 22nd 2008 till December 22nd 2008. The total tuition fee amounts to 10.500 euro ( 3000 euro of enrollment fee + 7500 euro of tuition fee ). Enrollment fee must be paid as soon as possible in order to secure a place. A special scholarship of 40% on the tuition fee ( 7.500 euro ) will be granted to the most talented and motivated candidate.

Fashion Marketing and Communications - Florence - The course in Fashion Marketing and Communications trains professionals to be capable of conceiving and managing an integrated promotions strategy, look after external relations with other actors working in the sector, monitor advertising campaigns, maintain relations with the media and organise events and fashion shows.

Accessories and Shoe Design - Theoretical lessons, specialised guest speakers, simulations, on-the-field project workshops, prototype trails, team work, final exams. Case-history studies: real experiences will be taught by professionals who have been directly involved in them. During this course, the participation in Roman high fashion events, visits to sectorial tradefairs (Linea Pelle, Micam, Mipel, Moda Pelle), to companies operating in this sector and to the most important Roman showrooms are envisaged.

Jewellery Design - The Jewellery designer is a sensitive interpreter of a system of signs and languages that permeates ever yday life. Our body and our behaviour are surrounded by a complex system of symbols that jewellery designers, thanks to their peculiar aesthetic sensitivity and their talent for intuition and projection, are able to translate into objects and tangible forms. Jewels are nothing but the manifestation of those symbols that users choose on the basis of their own personal codes of values. Symbolic meanings and the skill to transform them into concrete shapes and objects are therefore a prerogative of the jewellery designer.
